Job description

Trillium Pumps Italy is looking for a Technical Engineer

Purpose of the Role:

The Technical Engineer reports to the Product Technology Manager and participates in activities across the tender phase, project execution, and product development. The role collaborates closely with Product Design and Commercial Operations, providing technical expertise and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out assigned activities while meeting "On Time Delivery" objectives.
  • Support the Commercial Operations team during the tender phase by addressing technical questions related to pump performance and mechanical setup.
  • Maintain and verify pump curves within the IQ SKB system, ensuring alignment with tested data.
  • Validate hydraulic designs for pre-engineered pumps and, when needed, for custom solutions to ensure required performance curves are achieved.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of ongoing projects.
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance the Pump Configurator software.
  • Perform FEA or spreadsheet-based calculations for specific projects, coordinating with R&D when required.
  • Develop 3D models when necessary.
  • Create and update IOM manuals and certification documentation (e.g., CE, ATEX, PED).
  • Contribute to internal product specification guidelines in collaboration with the Product Engineering Manager.
  • Act as "Pump Technical Referent" when needed, participating in product development meetings and supporting other departments on specific product lines.
  • Provide support to the Test Center and define impeller trimming or other hydraulic adjustments to meet project specifications.
  • Analyze NCRs related to pump components and assemblies, providing feedback to Quality and Production teams.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members when required.
  • Support the Product Technology Manager in improving operational efficiency by proposing and developing optimized tools and processes.

Education and Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, with at least two years of experience in similar roles involving rotating machinery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Ansys CFX, PTC Creo Parametric, and PTC Creo Simulate; basic knowledge of Nastran and Visual Basic. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, databases, and spreadsheet applications.
